I Played Little League Baseball. I put these pics up so any young people, who come here can see that I, like many many Nam Vets had a normal childhood. Can't find me? Standing far right. Yep that's little fat sammy. I think I am 10 in this picture.

North West View of Khe Sanh. Base is 1/2 mile wide and 1 mile long Not counting the Rock Quarry and 1/9. When we finished the Strip it was 3,900 feet long. About 300 feet is out side the perimeter. What a Target we made for the NVA.

Sunday Steak Fry Once a month we ate Steak. At this time we were working Two 12 hour shifts trying to Finish Rebuilding the Air Strip. My shift was 7PM to 7AM Under portable lights. What a target for Mr Charles. You can see one of the light stands in the back ground. We worked Hard and Played Hard. Khe Sanh 1967

Beware Marines the Seabees are armed and watching. We were giving away building material to the Marines and the CO thought it was being stolen so up went the sign and we had to stand guard. An armed Seabee, NO marine would come close, they may be brave but not COMPLETELY STUPID!

SeaBee Club House. Khe Sanh 1967, Just before it was blown away Jan. 20th, 1968 TET. OK I need help. Starting on left ? hanging from rafter is Animal=EONCN Brokaw, in front of Animal ? Me in back beer and big smile, in front of me with glasses ? In front of him no hat is EON Gates. In front with hat EON McLennan. Far right BUL Ahlers. Front kneeling sunglasses I am told is Jim Lange. Ifound out this Brother has passed on and I have again lost his name:>( Anyone know any of these guys let me know. I REALLY miss my Khe Sanh Brothers

Navy Hair Cut at Khe Sanh 67. 1st Class Electrician Harold Cann, cutting My Hair. During the siege Hal would be put in for a Bronze Star, during incomming he would go out and make sure the com generator and C-Med generators were working. A Marine Gunny gave me the Cigar. He lost a game of Cribbage to me, he wagered a cigar I wagered a COLD BEER

Sand Bag Detail. We are building our fighting trench right behind the Marine lines overlooking the Garbage Dump. Behind us is an old bunker, some say it was built by the french, others said Seabees built it for Special Forces before the Marines took over. Behind the old Bunker is our Alamo Hilton and Club house.Khe Sanh Nov. 1967

C-130 Down. 1 of many BIRDS that didn't make it. This one got hit on approch with Machine Gun fire. It had fuel on board, If memory serves me, we lost 6 on this 1.

Khe Sanh 1968, this was our bunker in the Company area by the air strip. Behind me is the Mech. shop. Our Living bunkers were built alot better than this one. Mom and the girl friend wanted to know, are you ok? So I sent these pics home. Maby I shouldn't have, I got my Dear Sam letter 2 months later.

Bruce Morris on left, Bruce was our main fix it man. Bruce worked his butte off keeping things rolling. Shrapmetal on the ground everywhere kept us busy repairing tires. Bruce Passed away from cancer 2008 possibly from agent orange.. Hand Salute ! Khe Sanh 1968
